USERS REVIEWS:

But for editing, this is not the very best format. I bought this camera as a substitute for a VHS-C camera that I never did handle to use due to the fact it was just too cumbersome. (Even on a excellent holiday, in excess of 6 hrs of footage is too significantly! Edit yourself!!) No working out of area in the middle of one thing thrilling taking place. And the nightshooting is truly cool, also. In vivid sun you can not see the picture on the viewscreen at all, so with no the option of switching to the viewfinder it is hit and miss if you are filming what you assume you are filming. 1st of all, it doesn’t have a broad-angle lens. To edit in Windows Film Maker you have to convert the file varieties and the good quality tanks. This limits my filmmaking capabilities more than I realized it would. General it is a wonderful tiny camera, but there is area for improvement. . And the last major challenge I have is that it records in MPEG2 format. I just never know if I will ever use it other than to torment my cat. The lens cap is built in, which is also excellent, but I am forgetting to shut it all the time. You are forced to use the viewscreen at all times. That is an optional accessory. On the plus side, I in no way have to get tapes for this issue, and with something like 6 hrs of recording constructed in at the highest high quality I doubt I will even need to have to acquire memory cards for it. Secondly, it dosn’t have a viewfinder. And transferring to JPEG for even now shots is simple with the new software I’m making an attempt, and the stills appear fantastic. The HandyCam SR45 is undoubtedly modest — it fits in my purse! But it does have a few flaws I want I had recognized prior to getting. And the 40x Optical Zoom is great! It will take some fantastic up-near shots with out getting to get up-shut. I am searching at some MPEG2 editors right now, but I hear that editing proper in MPEG2 format you lose some ability to make fine-tune edits. This is the format (I guess) that you want to output straight to DVD

five hour extra battery. . 3) I am becoming picky, But I would have liked it if the lens cover closes instantly when the camera is shut off. I forget and leave the lens open. . . . . 30gb drive is more than sufficient for my demands. . I decided that perhaps it is just also little light in my workplace, so I waited right up until the subsequent day to consider it outdoors. and it looked grainy. . . . but then it came time to test the camera out. 00 (got a deal) on a new Sony DCR-SR45. . . . . 7 inch view screen, but porting it to my Personal computer, I just believed the high quality should be a lot better. its 2008 and this did not seem to be to be a greater quality than my old Panasonic Tape camcorder. Even now grainy. I was so utilized to the top quality of my Canon Rebel, that I just assumed that a new cam corder would get me the very same high quality or near to it!I place down my 8. Considering that then I have purchased Point and Shoots and SRL Digitals that really impressed me. I like the Carl Ziess lenses and believed this has got to give me good high quality! I also was impressed that it was all on a tough drive. use that as the primary and use the one particular they gave you as a backup. I love the touch display. . . . pretend that function does not exist. . So I looked at the high quality of the video in the 0-0 value array and came to the realization that this Camcorder is truly on par with the other people. I would recommend finding a six. I referred to as Sony and they had me do a reset and try out once more. . Nonetheless looked about the exact same. dont believe this is going to change your point and shoot on getaway. I checked the settings and it was set to “SP” so I set it to “HQ” and attempted once again. . . So I was all set to send this back to the seller. . . . I had it bundled up and the RMA on the box. . The HandyCam SR45 match correct in my hand, it weighs less then my Canon Rebel(with the 50mm lens) and is pretty effortless to use. . I was upset. I imply. its just asking for difficulty!four) Battery that comes with the camcorder lasts about 45 minutes. . . . . . The photograph stills are just a joke. . The final time I bought a camcorder was in 1994, when my very first Daughter was born. My first check was in my Residence office. It was an 8mm Panasonic. So I went property and compared my two point and shoots that do Video clip Clips (Kodak and Nikon)and my old Camcorder and recognized that this the top quality of this camcorder is better!I even now give it a three star, because1) Photograph Nonetheless Pictures are just a joke!two) The software program stinks. I did. . . . But I determined to go buying when once more and compare this model to other individuals in the price variety (I am not about to spend 00 for a camcorder that I use only on Holidays, trips and Graduations). . It was my personal perception of what it must have been that was incorrect. it looked fine through the 2. . . . . it is just not ready to at ALL. The telephoto was outstanding, but the typical video was not up to my typical

Honestly, the best items about this camera is that it’s very little, can fit in the palm of your hand with ease. It’s a truly very good camera and a genuinely great deal. The top quality of the camera while recording at initial was a tiny significantly less than I anticipated it to be, but that is because I had the recording mode in LP (medium high quality) so I put it at the highest (HQ) and everything looked fine. Thanks, Sony!. I bought this camera 2 weeks ago and I have to say, it really is really neat. The next issue is the Night Vision mode, this is the very best, I was capable to record in Complete DARKNESS within my property (w/ all lights off) and I could nonetheless see factors!Last major noticeable point is the truth that you don’t have to keep shifting discs every single 30 minutes to record new video clip. You can record straight to the Challenging Disk for up to 9 hours at the highest top quality!Listen, if you’re looking for a very good top quality, tiny compact video camera for below 0, get this

USERS REVIEWS:

The digital camera is very light and straightforward to management with one particular hand. . This is outstanding even in low light situations. It was the identical price but this has the Super Niteshot. Extremely pleased. I was also able to record on the DVD -R’s which do not require formatting – just place the disc in and record. Not as difficult as I believed it would be. So here is my viewpoint. Oh and finalizing is just when you are carried out recording you go the menu on the camcorder press finalize and it does in about one minute it says it is comprehensive and your done. I returned my Samsung 164 for this digital camera. The lens is produced of glass versus the Samsung which is made of plastic. I am in no way a laptop or computer geek, I had no idea what optical zoom and finalizing disc’s meant. But I am a mom that wanted high quality home videos of my ladies and desired to commit significantly less than 0. The zoom is amazing on this digital camera, I stood across my kitchen was ready to zoom in on the modest print on my calendar, Amazing! I am so glad I took the Samsung 164 back – the indoor top quality of that digital camera was horrible

On top of that it has a digital zoom that you can system for 80X or a totally insane 2000X. This unit records video straight to mini-DVD disks. Extremely clear, and it has a dolby 5. It has a common 40X optical zoom that is more than sufficient. It weighs less than 1 pound, and the battery lasts for 90 recording minutes on a total charge. You can plug the unit into a Tv and play back, you can play back on the LCD, you can finalize the disk and place it into a regular DVD player, or a personal computer DVD drive. The unit comes with software program to install on your Computer that you can then use to edit the video clips, then re-burn to a new DVD if you have a DVD burner on your Pc. one surround converter. . It has a “widescreen” setting in the video possibilities, and the manual does not say that this model records in widescreen, but it does! It also has a really awesome nightshot characteristic that utilizes Infrared Radiation so you can film in complete darkness. The Zoom function on this unit it so powerful it is absurd. I can zoom in on a single letter of a word, in a tiny print book, from 50ft away, and then the letter disappears and turns to pixels. The sound high quality of this unit is what most impressed me

I chose the Sony DVD handycam because it was simple to use, the menu was quite straightfoward, it had a 40x optical zoom (compared to 32x) and it was DVD. I was skeptical about the dvd portion because I had heard about the minimal recording time, etc but I didn’t understand the distinct disk formats I guess. I have had fairly a handful of camcorders above the years (none of them Sony), and when I was looking for a new one, I did my typical three-4 weeks of researching, and so forth. So, even though I am new to Sony camcorders, I am actually enjoying this one particular. Anyway, I am very pleased with this camcorder, and being capable to shoot in a 16:9 format is also a nice function I didn’t even think about at very first. My only advice would be to go ahead and get the memory stick and the disk pack when you buy the digital camera because you will want them!

It was wonderful to not have to go out and purchase an further battery and figure out what DVDs to acquire for it. My sister-in-law got the exact same digital camera for Christmas, but with no the kit. It broke as quickly as we took it out of the box. It really is really effortless to use. I’ve enjoyed my camera. The carrying situation is excellent and can hold the accessories that come with it. What I enjoy about it was the accessory kit that came with it with the exception of the mini tri-pod. The 8GB memory stick was a nice bonus as nicely as the battery charger that plugs straight into the wall outlet. . Her carrying case was a lot smaller and she was trying to use it but did not have the proper DVDs or the memory stick or further battery. I was so glad I did

Array

It wasn’t consistent either hence the three stars on the battery existence. We mostly purchased it simply because of the cost, extras, and that it utilized dvd’s rather of tapes. It functions well for us however we do want the battery would last a small longer at times for our 3 kids’ concerts and holidays. . The battery last about an hour brand new and fully charged. Overall we are content enough with it. We have not dropped it so gave it a four on durability with regular use. The dvd that comes with only records 30 minutes, but you can buy ones that last longer

The camera delivered 720×480 frames with no problems, giving me a sample from a 15 year old regular 8mm tape, a newer Hi8 tape, and some Digital eight footage taken with the new camera. UPDATE: I bought the Firewire cable (six pin to 4 pin) and tested the capture program again with Roxio’s DVD Builder. The Digital eight recording also instantly separates out segments for editing with each record/standby transition you film, which is a great attribute for the long term. I believe that DVDMax was capable to get the greater 640×480 resolution via the USB cable, but I have not confirmed that at this creating. . . If you buy Sony, you will want to do the same, and use DVDMax or some other third get together instrument to capture, handle, and burn your videos on a Computer.

Read more. [See my update under. The resulting quality from a assortment of old tapes (common 8mm, Hi8, new digital) is satisfactory for residence movies, when set at 640x480 (I do not count on specialist high quality benefits, even so considerably I would wish for them, particularly with my older analog tapes). Both the analog recordings were much better than the earlier check with the USB2 connection. As a result I need to restrict my thoughts to the software package and the digital camera interface to my Pc. I have not truly tested the digital camera functions yet, past producing a handful of minutes of digital tape to play with for quality comparisons. The digital camera appears to be in control of the approach. It did. The Digital 8 recording was superb, even though even now not business good quality. That mentioned, right after an hour of reading through and experimenting, I was capable to burn a VCD from a preexisting tape making use of the presented USB2 cable. This will waste a great deal of CD room if you have more than a few gaps on your unique tapes (one thing I am quite guilty of -)). My 1st reactions are that the camera will do the work, but that the presented DVD/VCD computer software is useless. ]My first aim was to capture some minutes of preexisting materials on my Personal computer to understand the process and discover the computer software. At this point, I was taking into consideration returning the digital camera. I am intending to check this in the following week or so, once I can buy the cable. The digital camera and computer software linked up right away, with the Computer controlling the digital camera as necessary. Video worked on the first attempt, with Audio coming along when I recognized that I was pointing the software at the incorrect supply. (Be patient, it can take 20-40 seconds for the camera and software package to shake hands and get to it. The direct VCD format is (I believe) MPEG-one. The zoom. Otherwise you are caught with direct burning of VCDs, and that without any genuine editing capabilities. ) Recording begins at the current place on the tape, puts in chapter marks at fixed (but configurable) time intervals, and quits when it sees a gap on the tape. The digital camera are not able to do this for either analog format. It also automatically finishes the disk when blank tape is discovered, so you are not able to add much more segments to a half complete disk. I spent 5 minutes with the DVDMax tutorial, then set DVDMax to capture the USB2 input stream, and just hit play on the camera. I anticipate I can get a additional improvement on all my materials if I get software with far better rendering capabilities, which is the subsequent obtain on my checklist. Right after diligently reading the manual, I discovered that to burn DVDs with the Sony software, you need to personal a Sony VIAO computer system. After wasting 5-6 CDRs, I was rather frustrated. Right after creating a test movie with DVDMax, and checking it on the method in the living area, I deleted all of Sony’s software, except the base driver, and will happily reside without it. It was simple to capture segments, however the two gadgets are not linked at the control level, meaning that you have to start off the camera playback and click the record button on the Personal computer separately, the old fashioned way. (My OS is Win2K Professional on a new 2. 8Ghz P4). Further, Sony’s computer software will only capture to MPEG-2 format with the use of a firewire/I-link/IEEE 1394 connection (not provided), and does not function with USB2. My main demands have been for a model that would make it straightforward to capture aging 8mm tapes on DVD media, and give 5-10 years of use for much more household movies. The process needs commencing the software on the Personal computer, then initiating the burn from the camera. I have also been ready to test the camera modestly. The Sony software package limited me to a reduce resolution when using the USP cable, although I really should note that the manual suggests that increased high quality is feasible with a firewire connection. I bought my Sony DCR-TRV480 a week ago, to change a 9-year-old Sony Hi8 model. Thankfully, my burner (from TDK) came with Roxio’s DVDMax software, and I decided to see if it would do much better. The clincher was a quantity of computer system lockups, apparently from some of the software package failing to shut when instructed to do so. The manual does NOT say that the camera will refuse to start the process if you have not inserted a fully new CDR in your burner

dropped 1 and the other fell into the river while filming kayaking). . ) Also consists of a ‘backlight’ button to compensate for backlit subjects. With the remote management, you also have access to date search. Whilst the camera’s designed so your hand is at the side even though holding for filming, the zoom control is on the best. two) Sony has carried out a great occupation with the idea and improved it with each subsequent model. 1 of my preferred characteristics is search. (For example: camera records timeline on the tape so the right date/time will usually be linked with every single scene. The a single caveat here — and it really is probably my biggest complaint about the digital camera — is the area and feel of the zoom control. ‘ You can maintain proper focus on the object you want, rather than having a general autofocus program shift the concentrate to one thing else. It will speedily take you to the end of the recording on the tape so you can choose up proper where you left off following reviewing preceding scenes. It is practically unattainable to operate the control smoothly even though holding the digital camera in a regular grip. It is challenging to feel they located this placement acceptable although designing the unit. It’s useful and responsive — it also leaves a great deal of fingerprints on the lcd. Unit has a modest filming light that is beneficial in a couple of circumstances, but not for key night/dark predicament filming. Fundamentally, if you’re novice to semi-superior video maker, it would be very challenging to beat this digital camera in terms of good quality, attributes, and ease of use. Attaching the digital camera to a computer system through firewire cable (not integrated with camera) helps make everyting extremely simple. This is my third Sony digital 8 camcorder (yeah, I know. This model’s biggest modify is the ‘touch screen’ menu. Camera accepts a common Sony memory stick which you can use to capture stills (either straight by means of the digital camera, or from film you’ve currently recorded) and brief mpeg snipets (depending on how big a memory stick you use). Digital camera has a lot of editing sort attributes (like including titles and transitions), although I desire to read the tapes into the computer system and do my editing with Adobe Components or Microsoft Movie Maker. It really is straightforward to hold and keep steady. I have not tried it yet. A single characteristic I have not used yet (but I am anxious to consider) is ‘spot concentrate. . It does have ‘night shot’ mode, if you don’t thoughts viewing anything in a green tint. I make normal 4×6 even now prints from shots taken with the camera and they appear decent (although not what you’d get with a large res digital still camera). This most recent iteration has a relatively enhanced zoom management switch, but the placement is the same and just as awkward to use. It is really wonderful to press a button many times and be taken right to the scene you wanted. . If you simply want to download stills or mpegs you have recorded on the memory stick, you can attach to the computer system by means of the included USB cable. You have most all rewards of digital, and I can play/assessment all the years of tape I recorded on common 8mm. The camera has a wonderful feel in your hand. (Note: this latest model also has “super” nightshot mode, which is supposed to give a better evening picture. I maintain coming back because: one) I enjoy the format: digital eight tapes that are compatible with normal 8mm tapes. ) Furthermore, although digital 8mm tape may not have all the resolution of other digital formats, its file size is much smaller sized when tranferred to the computer (and I discover the resolution to be fine). The menu exhibits on the lcd screen and you touch your way by way of the options

I really wasn’t prepared financially to make such a large leap and wasn’t too thrilled with the thought of investing 0 even though understanding eventually I’d even now want the HD when I was in a position to drop the bucks. I had narrowed my search to the miniDV HC90 or the DVD403 model. . I have a 70-inch HDTV and wanted a thing to fill the screen. When my 12-year-old Hi8 Sony went out on me just lately I commenced buying around. I was leaning in the direction of the HC90 simply due to the fact I liked the longer recording solution that tape gives and the truth that the two supply a 16:9 facet ratio. In addition when trying to capture video with Sonic RecordNow utilizing the provided USB cable, I was getting video but no audio. Purchasing a IEEE 1394 cable did the trick. Nevertheless, the 0 value of those cameras was leading to me to contemplate the new HD Sony camcorder with its 00 cost. The most significant challenge was transferring videos to the Computer for burning to DVD. Thankfully I stumbled on this TRV480 model. No automatic lens cap for instance. I paid above $ one,000 for the old Hi8 and was curious to see how this 0 camera could possibly stack up. Best of all, the 0 price tag created me really at ease utilizing this digital camera as a stepping stone till I am ready for the move to HD. Not only is this Digital8 model compatible with the Hi8 tapes I previously own, but it also contains a 16:9 factor ratio recording solution which was important for me. (There is no S-video output on this digital camera nor is there a headphone output. I had been making use of a Pinnacle PCTV to capture video from the old camera with an S-video output and an audio cable from the camera’s headphone jack. For 0 and for what I needed out of this digital camera, I could not be much more happy. ) As one more reviewer pointed out effectively, the computer software offered by SONY is fundamentally ineffective you own a Vaio. I was quite surprised at the quality of the picture on my 70″ Television with the 16:9 aspect ratio. Granted, it really is nowhere near HDTV but this camera exceeded my expectations and the video quality is at least as great as my old camera, perhaps even better. The Sonic software package works fine for this purpose. But the touch-screen LCD was an sudden plus. I can now transfer video from camera to Personal computer without having making use of the Pinnacle video capture hardware. There are absolutely some short-cuts taken

I was at a Sony Store just lately and got to test drive this incredible camera for a day. Simply because the XF100 will shoot with 50Mb/s and 4:two:2 colour area, I doubt it will be in the 00-00 selection. There have been no concerns. Lens: I actually liked the 20x zoom and the controls on the lens itself. Car focus: This seemed a very little sluggish to me. I just want my boys at Canon would make a thing equivalent -) because I’m going to be switching brands as quickly as I save up the money. . Even though, I’ll be ecstatic if it is!PS. I rolled the iris up to more than-expose the picture then had the camera car-iris to reproduce some picture tearing. I even attempted to reproduce a complaint I read about on Sony’s personal website that says immediately after 2GB (or 12 mins) of shooting the file would split into two pieces and cause stutter in audio and dropped frames at the break. This is an straightforward (and not as well high-priced) repair, purchase a shotgun mic. . The ergonomics were wonderful. Stock battery: I was astonished at how long it was lasting. I feel that this camera stands alone with no equal right now. I was making use of a class four SDHC card. If you are shooting a wedding or a thing, this will not be a huge deal. I was also unable to reproduce the “jello” impact that some complain about with CMOS sensors. . This was lit like a property theater and the camera had no troubles maintaining up. Reduced light/Shifting Light operations: The front of the shop was properly-lit with a mixture of colour temperature (florescent, tungsten, LED) flood lights. I take place to Adore Jello! I never require Bill Cosby coming after me!. The Panasonic version could have 3CCDs, but the zoom is not as good and it only records to one memory stick which signifies that I’d have to switch media more typically. I will say this: I’m on a Core2 Quad with 8GB RAM and a GeForce GT 120 and Premier CS5 and it worked like a charm. Of program I had to render each transition, but playback was smooth as silk and scrubbing by means of video wasn’t horrid. These are going to be smaller sized (and cheaper) versions of the XF305 and XF300. Pros:Simple to operate: Currently being a Canon man, I believed the controls on a Sony might be a jump for me, but they’re all fairly common. Other Thoughts:Canon has announced the XF105 and XF100. Lets reduce to the chase. Cons:Stock Microphone: This is no shock, a stock mic that is undesirable? NO WAY! I have not come across numerous prosumer cameras with a great mic. The AX2000 had no issues with automated white balance. Total Impression:Some individuals have complained about editing AVCHD. The check was shot in 1080 24p FX mode. Don’t get me incorrect, it really is some thing that a professional would HAVE to upgrade, but in a pinch I wouldn’t be worried about utilizing it. I put it by means of a strain test of continually altering lighting and negative (on goal) camera motion to see if I could reproduce the infamous “jello” impact from a rolling shutter on CMOS chips. Appear and really feel: The camera looks like a pro would use it. I was handheld the entire time and was NOT being careful when I shot. Buttons that needed to be buttons were buttons, and switches that required to be switches have been switches. I had no difficulty telling which a single was which and reaching them even though I was shooting. If you happen to be shooting a sporting occasion, it may well. . I had no difficulties jumping in and doing what I wanted with it. I walked to the back with a dramatic lighting change. The placement of the concentrate, zoom, and iris rings had been quite good

Some other factors to think about: Camera has CMOS chips, which are sooner or later going to be all that is made. It would be quite handy for events, sports activities, interviews, documentaries and some indie filmmaking. The camera performs about as nicely as all the other individuals in lower light in this class. * Extremely fine good quality LCD display. * On board microphone is useless. But not much wider than the HMC-150. If you can reside without the overcranking and have a good XLR microhone already, this might be the camera for you. This may possibly be prone to some rolling shutter troubles or vibration troubles. Sony’s digital zoom is also very great in a pinch. 5lux is a bit of hype. This Sony camera is a nice addition to the Sony Line-up, somewhat of a replacement for the HVR-V1u, only shooting tapeless to MemoryStick and SD cards as an alternative of tape. It was released close to March of 2010, and competes mainly with the Panasonic HMC-150 which has equivalent attributes. Right here are some cons:* Camera will not shoot 720p, and will not overcrank (no slow motion). * Low light performance of one. Right here are the pros as I see it:* Wider angled lens than several other cameras, which is good for interiors, and filmmaking. But CMOS does use much less energy than CCD chips. You can argue about the placement. * Camera will shoot 1080, but also 480, if you want to shoot common definition like the “old days”. Only the Canons equal this. It doesn’t have the interchangeable lenses that the Z5u or EX-3 have, but it really is much less high-priced than people, and not like the V1u, it is tapeless, and is most likely a quit far better in low light than the V1u. * AVCHD footage could not play wonderful with Last Cut Pro or some software package, yielding large file sizes that could need converting. Bottom line – If you are a Sony user and have been waiting for a camera that shoots to SD cards in this cost assortment, this will do it, and all you need to have. . Chips are only 1/3″, which will soon be a factor of the previous. * Arguably overpriced, specifically with the onslaught of outstanding footage noticed from DSLR cameras. * 20x zoom, which is quite nice to have. I will allow you research this on your personal

. Again I’m not a expert but my Sony HDR AX2000 can make my videos seem like I am. LCD display is in a perfect spot for low angle shots”Steady Shot” in the “active” mode is rock steadyI upgraded from a Panasonic ag dvc30 and this is a huge leap in technological innovation. Macro shots are crisp and vivid. My expertise level is not skilled, just an avid amateur. I actually like usingthe super slow motion characteristic it permits me to capture stunning slow motion video. Controls are placed within straightforward all-natural reach. Reduced light is amazing. Manual focus couldn’t be easier. I have used this camcorderin a variety of lighting situations and all of my movies appear excellent

USERS REVIEWS:

of program getting in college price tag was a massive deal since i am always broke. it is not backward compatible correct, but i do not have any older tapes from an older camera. nicely let me start off off by saying i am not a loved ones guy, i purchased this camera purely for university, that means alot of night shots, alot of abuse and other things related to university. i got this camera at a really good cost (5) and so far the camera is proved it’s worthyness! i’ve taken it all over the place outdoors, indoors, sports activities events, race track use, etc etc. This camera is for that reason perfect for a first time camcorder user who needs price tag, functionalty and high quality all in a single. . . all in all it is a quite good camcorder. The night shot is really useful and it operates very nicely and the easycam choice enables me to do anything with the touch of one ot two buttons

When I obtain my 460, I’m going to consider all my analog and D8 movies and digitize them to a format readable by computers into the foreseeable future considering that VHS and D8 are both moribund. Buy the DCRTRV460 Digital8 Handycam Camcorder from Amazon. Big mistake! On the plus side, the TRV260 is relatively smaller front-to-back than the TRV240. e. ” (two) There is no audio input jack or headphone jack, so you cannot connect an external microphone or listen to the audio that you happen to be recording. On the minus side: (1) The TRV 260 lacks the potential to make digital copies of VHS videotapes that the TRV 240 had. The TRV460 nonetheless does not have #2 or #three in the paragraph over, but at least it is closer to what I came to count on from the 240. com!. In addition (and significantly less essential to me), the TRV-460 has the capacity to record still images on a Memory Stick (rather of on the D8 tape), a remote control, and a “Touch Panel” LCD screen. It has “Analog-to-Digital Conversion with Pass Through” (i. (3) There is no “Intelligent Accessory Shoe” so you cannot connect an further video light or a shotgun mike. , “Convert and/or record any analog NTSC video resource to digital video through the analog inputs,” even in genuine-time – which was not discovered on the TRV-250). Somebody stole my DCR-TRV240 camcorder, so I thought I’d obtain a DCR-TRV260 so that I could play my old Digital 8 tapes and carry on converting my VHS tapes to digital. Since the DCRTRV250 mentioned in the February-March 2004 Amazon evaluations is apparently no longer produced, if you’re in the market place for a new Digital8 camcorder, get the TRV 460 rather for far more. That is, the A/V jack is only “out,” not “in/out

So, if you need to have to be in a position to play them, you are going to have to devote the added and purchase the 460. I was told at the keep that it does, but I was not capable to make it take place, and the men and women at Sony confirmed that it does NOT play old tapes. . This model is NOT backward compatible with old analogue Hi8 tapes. That characteristic is not obtainable until finally the 460
