Review: Great camcorder. Easy, easy, great video experience. Did he take it on a 16 day cruise / tour a week after the purchase, and it meets all requirements. Battery life about 2 hours per charge, enough to support a full day on tour. The entire journey is not yet completed 32GB internal memory (we recorded just over five hours to seven hours available, all in best quality. Bought and used a 16 GB SDHC card for still pix, and it worked wonderfully well. The disadvantage ? Extreme small size and light weight make controlling camera shake difficult, especially when zooming, lack of viewfinder is a real nuisance.

Review: I had high expectations for this camcorder. I did some research and despite the limited reviews I decided to buy. It had required all the features I for a standard-def camcorder, and I thought the price was fair. It was a long zoom, and it was small, compact and lightweight. . . . almost like a toy.
The quality of the video in bright light was great. Indoors is where you could impress your camcorder at me. In typical bedroom lighting, the video was very very grainy and unacceptable. When zoomed out the video was very shaky, but a tripod would have helped. The deal breaker for me was the performance in low light, and when I say I am a little light in a well lit room with a lamp and a 75 watt light bulb means.
I wanted this camcorder Canon because of the names and functions such as, but in the end the quality was not there, especially for the price. I would not recommend this camcorder in situations where the lighting is not perfect.
