This is not a fancy device with many features, but for the price I thought it a good value. It shows a higher resolution than some of the more expensive devices. My main requirement was the playback quality and ensure it is good. Rating: 4 / 5

Exactly what I was looking for an easy-to-use video player. I did not want a touch screen, I can do it without using the keys now anyway. Nice drag and drop files, such as an HD, slot for mem card, stereo speakers, my headphones sound wonderfully refreshed with this device. I have looked at and tried a whole range of so-called video players are the most only a pain to convert files with. This, and the PSP are the way to go for mobile video. I use DVDFab, MPEG2 at 800 x 480 and I’m set (iphone) settings. Nice job people! Oh have not tried music files but I’ll tell if I’ve done this, looks simple enough. Oh, and I called customer support with a few questions, great service! Also has a 1-year warranty. Rating: 5 / 5

The Good: – price – 4 3 “Screen – Plays multiple video formats – Includes lots of accessories (AC charger, USB cable, A / V cable, earphones, remote control and component cables) – Compact size – memory – HD Output The Bad: – Cheap Plastic construction (Squeaks when torque) – Fingerprint magnet – No build-in stand – very, very, very short battery life (2 hours max for me on a typical MP4 movie) – Inaccurate and useless battery status indicator — Awkward controls (buttons too small and can (bad placement / layout) – speaker volume too low only in a quiet environment to hear is) – Screen too dark (lacquer details / shadows) – Build-in rechargeable battery (can not on its own replace fist when it goes bad) The Ugly: – Basically you get what you pay would be. This unit is a great player if they are not included for the bathroom above. It is one of those things that looks really good on the paper but in reality, it is far from it. It seems more like a toy you give your teenage son or daughter as a serious player would you keep to yourself. All in all, it’s an OK unit, but I would not recommend buying it for others. I bought this player strictly for viewing video, not for music or digital books. For the choice of format, there is no comparison. The thing plays every format I know, plus WMV, which is not listed in the product description. The battery life is okay, I’ve made about 5 hours before loading it necessary. I have it 4 stars for a few quirks. The firmware can be a little cumbersome, and the updater on the Viewsonic website was not compatible with Vista, but worked with XP. Resolution is somewhat narrower than 16:9, so you have either re-rip watch the video or live with it. It is an easy cheap feeling of unity, but for $ 120, I can live with that. The screen is very nice and the sound is good too. The flash memory is so you can now drop, witch is so much easier than if you use a proprietary software package. Moreover, this issue comes with a bundle of cables, so you do not shell out to more information. Finally, if you do not want the transcoding software of the other two major players in this market a lot and want a player for any video format is for you. I want a second generation of this product can be found to make the $ 150 range with a better quality and better firmware. Rating: 4 / 5

Overall I am very happy with this player. Not perfect, but pretty much what I wanted and expected. I wanted a player that does not use a hard disk (more reliable and longer battery life). Because these less memory I also wanted a slot for memory cards means I can take a lot of movies on the road. I just wanted to drag & drop management, so that special software. This player will fit the bill and the price was richtig.Pros: – Not a touch screen, so that no fingerprints of files on the screen .- Bigger screen and higher resolution than most media players .- Plays MPEG2 video even if it a charger that can plug into a separate socket, it will be recharged via the USB port. So we can use any USB charger when traveling and can connect external USB battery for long plane rides as Satechi icel 4400 mAh Battery Extender Pack and Charger for iPhone 3Gs & 3G, iPod, Flip and Vado using HD camcorders .- Play movies directly from microSD cards. Can bear a lot of movies on the road .- Easy file / folder management. Behaves like USB flash drive. No special software is required .- remote control TV set connected to the composite video output for older televisions with the Settings menu and green inlcuded RCA plug on the cable (without papers), but image is significantly curtailed .- Can display text in book Modus.Cons: – Only about 4 hours battery life when watching movies .- Not more than a touch screen, navigation buttons on the side takes some learning .- It is easy to press side buttons by mistake when handling .- No HDMI output for TV , only component (480i, 480p, 720p) or composite (480i) – On / Off switch is confusing.
