This camera is truly an amazing piece of equipment. It is so easy to use and so intuitive, I was ready to and within the shortest time. The focus and zoom wheel is smooth as butter, the menu is easy to navigate, the features are easy to understand. The camera is light and compact, but big enough to like a real camera. Needed an HD camcorder that would replace my dead JVC HD7. The JVC had better manual controls on independent inspections of shutter speed and aperture. Manual Zoom) was on the HMC40 okay, handling was okay (very light, top-handle is removable (but sometimes had to return to – screws not aligned) with base. The image quality was OK, compared to (not too close to the saturated HD7). Automatic white balance is okay, but not great – not just a manual white balance. (The touch screen is a nice novelty has ever given / zoom / Quick Menu / Full Menu / Delete buttons at the bottom of the screen), and there are 3 independent USER1, 2,3-button to adjust the camera. It’s only 12-fold Zoom.Umwandeln DVD in MPEG2 AVCHD is a bit lacking – I am super pixelated results. On the website they recommend a high-end encoders, as do the Adobe Media Encoder or Vegas video is not a good job. The optical image stabilizer is excellent compared to the terrible stabilizer JVC’s HD7. About need a good camera, you only want a fast PC / Mac to do, post-processing. In the CD record, there is a program to convert the files to HDV, AVCHD, MPEG2, and Canopus DV codec. Yet examination of the program. . . I am recommending Class 6 SDHC card cover, even though the manual said I could use the Class 4. On a 16 GB SDHC card with the highest quality recording, you can min by up to 1 hr 30th Stock battery lasts about 90min. I recommend the Extended Battery from Panasonic – records up to open 7HR with LCD screen, I did not have the XLR adapter, but was connected with the Rode Video Mic Mini Plug the HMC40 satisfied. I also like the ability to connect to a headset. Overall a nice cam for less than $ 2000. Get this cam, when you are on top or on a tight budget or just need a second camera. Rating: 4 / 5

I have this camera for about two months now in the possession and I think I’ve found the holy grail of producing the best image quality as much camera in its price class. HD is producing one of the best inventions, the technology has advanced over the past ten years, and the Panasonic AG-HMC40 is one of the best prosumer HD cameras on the market today. For twenty years, I have to purchase and use of different brands of camcorders and have always stuck with Sony, but I have impressed lately with some of the new AVCHD cameras from Panasonic. I already have three other CMOS camcorders and were impressed with the CMOS technology. I would not hesitate to recommend a little, the AG-HMC40 to anyone looking for the best prosumer HD camera in this price range. If I were a word that best describes pick it up: a spectacular “!” Rating: 5 / 5

I recently upgraded to this camera and am very satisfied. I am a student and the film Hmc40 perfect Budget.Die with my picture quality is truly incredible impressive, and the battery lasts very long. Almost unnecessarily long until my last cam verglichen.I highly recommend it Rating: 5 / 5

Very hard to start, since Booster software had ordered and shipped. The serial number on the camera is not the serial number used to register the product. The Serial No. needs to be available online. Panasonic website is very difficult to maneuver. It was very difficult to someone who knew something, find about this new camera. Rating: 5 / 5
