I drive a truck (semi-), so my main use for this camcorder has a “dashcam” (actually I have a Panavise 809 CCTV Camera Window Mount, and they mounted against Heckscheibe.Die recording quality is great, and the Focus has made great improvements in the HDR-SR5 I have had. I could actually put it in manual focus mode. The On / Off switch is thinner, and in a difficult situation not a big deal (). Here is the main problem, I had with this camcorder (the reason for 1 star, because that which is good, a camcorder, if it does not add?) would be: The inclusion of any sudden a blue screen, “said buffer overload”. The height of the outages on was kind of effort, roads and bumps, I instructed my car. When I create a “user friendly” had load (medium weight, double-trailer ride = minimal tremors of the kind of vehicle I), I would perhaps 3-4 “buffer overload “messages while driving at a speed (55 MPH, of course, LOL). When stopping or slowing down meant a change in the” environmental conditions “for the internal hard drive, and came to the” buffer overload “messages. If a right / left , BUFFER OVERLOAD… climbing a hill, the same thing. Sometimes, it would if another truck passed me I pulled fehlschlagen.Wenn a super heavy weight on a single trailer 53 ‘and went the way that most had bumps, can I do not put the camcorder with me, because I do not 3 seconds of recording time out of him herausholen.Einige users with this model explains the experience that was the reason for the congestion buffer entries, the microphone sound was too high. This is obviously not the case it is the fact that the drive can withstand the vibrations associated applications. If it comes in a vehicle, or perhaps the vibrations produced the high-decibel sound from a live band, this camcorder has a serious Error, and Sony’s engineers and developers have some work to do, but they could not take them seriously, but the problem I hear bekannt.Die solution on various forums is that you could use a memory stick for the taking. My question is that could be a video data transfer from the memory stick to the internal hard drive? Otherwise, if a person with the camcorder for use in a vehicle, aircraft, live band, etc. I would seriously reconsider. Rating: 1 / 5

It is a very good camera. BUT the editing software that came with it, is lame. You can not edit and save it in HD on a hard drive when you burn a DVD. You can edit and save to MPEG! So, what is the purpose of the HD camera. I tried many third-party editing software, all had the same problems. Rating: 1 / 5

Too big for modern video cameras. I recently compared the Canon Vixia HF10 (HF100) and believe both to be a better choice to the SR11. Although Sony offers 24p and 30p mode on its high-end broadcast equipment, Canon offers both at the upper end and the consumer line. The ability to 24p and 30p recording offers a stunning video that is the feeling and the feeling of movement, if your child moves to the strong feel of 60i video hat.Design opposes the Canon produces significantly smaller and lack the harmful branding on the outside. The back of the LCD of the Sony is littered with names and tags. One of them is the 10-megapixel tag. This camcorder features a 5-megapixel sensor. Therefore, they will try to interpolation in the camera and say, 10-megapixel Bilder.Last, for a $ 1200 camcorder, they sure are stingy on the software. They send the SR11 with the same software that ships on their $ 249, the HC52 camcorder. I personally do not believe that it is very good software for a $ 249 product much less $ 1200 Rating: 1 / 5

I like Sony camcorder product, this is very good but very expensive. It is small enough to be around, but somehow the picture does not work Stablizers very well. I did not control all the functions and monkeys with a device not yet, maybe after I set eyes on the manual and the camera is actually right, then I would have the shaking problem. About all you can do nothing wrong with this book. Rating: 4 / 5

Movies play on other media players, but on Windows Media Player no sound. I called Sony and they said it was “Microsoft problem”, but I do not agree, it is the customer the problem and they refused to help. Stay away from this quirky pos. Rating: 1 / 5

I had a similar problem that the truck driver on here had. My sony hard drive camcorder has given me good use for years so I loved it, the other day I took it with me to a concert, there was loud music cause it was a concert, and about halfway filming (about 45 minutes), the camcorder shut off. I didn’t notice it right away so I lost a few minutes of recording, but I restarted it, and first it had to write files to the hard drive, that was another minute.
This started happening more regularly, eventually it only took a minute or so and it shut off, and would take another minute to write to the hard drive before it would start recording again.
Turns out this is supposed to happen. Whenever a loud noise is around (like a rock concert) a hard drive protection circuit kicks in and turns the hard drive off, stopping recording. I never knew that for years cause I didn’t take it to concerts, but now that I do, THIS REALLY SUCKS!
