I’m married to an uber-techie who can cow computers into submission simply by walking past them. I wouldn’t purchase anything electronic for him without prior input–but this item was on his birthday wish list.
He loved it! He opened it during the (very nice) dinner I made for him, and then completely forgot to eat because he was so engrossed with his new toy. We have taken it for a trial run on a hike, and he was extremely impressed with the picture clarity and the portability. I kept hearing phrases like “This is so cool!” and “I’m amazed at the size versus the picture clarity!”
Bottom line: Definitely a winner–especially for the price.

i ordered this set up for my wife for her birthday. its a great price but just keep in mind the old adage ” you get what you pay for”. the accessories arent the best you can get by any means. but…just keep in mind that if you want the camera, a memory card, a carrying case, and a hdmi cable, youll spend over 239.00 if you buy them individually. you get that plus a lot more with this package. the camera cleaning kit feels cheap but its all you really need and the carrying case is for the cyber shot camera. i wont know if it fits til next week when my wife opens it for her birthday. ill definitely be using the hdmi cable and the screen protectors which can be expensive on their own. bottom line…if you dont need all the accessories right away or have the money for top of the line ones just get the camera. however…this is a decent starter package for the price. besides…an extra battery never hurts anyone. even if it is aftermarket.

I purchased the Sony HD Bloggie kit. The camera is excellent, produces great videos and is easy to use. The kit, however, was cheesy. The tripod was a plastic toy which extended to all of 6 inches. The camera case was too small for the Sony, had to buy my own at Best Buy. Advice: buy the camera, not the kit.
